RezoneWatch

Privacy policy

Version v0-draft. Applies to rezonewatch.com.

Draft for legal review. This text is a working draft. Items in brackets, such as [COMPANY NAME], are placeholders that must be completed and reviewed by a qualified lawyer before launch.

Who we are

[COMPANY NAME], [ADDRESS] (“RezoneWatch”, “we”). Contact: [EMAIL].

What we collect

  • Account: your e-mail address, display name and password (stored by WordPress as a one-way hash).
  • Watches: the locations, radius and alert level you save.
  • Alert addresses: e-mail addresses you add, and a record of consent: when a confirmation was requested, confirmed or withdrawn, and under which policy version. Confirmation and unsubscribe links are stored only as one-way hashes.
  • Forms: what you enter in the demo or early-access form.
  • Technical: a keyed hash of your IP address, kept for up to one hour, to limit automated searches and form spam; standard web server logs kept by our host.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC, to count visits and see which public pages are used. Google receives the page address without its query string (so no search text, coordinates or links from e-mails), the page title, the address of the previous page shortened the same way, and the technical data any browser sends with a request, such as browser type and the IP address from which Google derives an approximate location. Account, confirmation and unsubscribe pages are never measured. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, Google Analytics is not loaded.

What we do not collect

No advertising trackers are used on this site. We do not sell personal information.

Public records

Case data comes from public City of Austin records. Applicant and owner names in those records are not displayed.

Why we use it

To run your account and watches, to send alerts only to addresses that confirmed (when alerts launch), to answer your requests, and to keep the service secure. [LEGAL BASIS / STATE LAW REFERENCES]

Cookies

WordPress sets sign-in cookies when you log in. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (names starting with _ga) to tell visits apart; they are not set when Google Analytics is not loaded.

How long we keep it

[RETENTION PERIODS]. Consent records are kept as evidence for as long as alerts could have been sent, and then [RETENTION].

Your choices

You can remove alert addresses, withdraw consent, pause watches and ask us to delete your account at [EMAIL]. Every alert will carry a one-click unsubscribe link.

Changes

We will post changes here with a new version label and, for material changes, tell account holders before they apply.
